Last Saturday night at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., WBA interim super flyweight (115 pounds) titlist Nonito Donaire earned his 24th straight victory and his ninth stoppage in his past 11 fights with a fourth-round knockout over Ukrainian bantamweight (118 pounds) Volodymyr Sydorenko, who was knocked out for the first time in his career.

Nicknamed "The Filipino Flash," and trained by Robert Garcia, Donaire rose to 25-1, with his 17th knockout in his bantamweight debut against Sydorenko (22-2-2, seven KOs), who was dropped once each in the first, third, and, fourth rounds.

In victory, Donaire set himself up for a Feb. 19, HBO televised bout against WBO and WBC bantamweight (118 pounds) king Fernando Montiel (43-2-2, 33 knockouts) of Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mex., at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.

FanHouse caught up to Donaire and Garcia moments after his big win.
