Amir Khan leaves Bolton Hospital following malaria scare

Boxer released from hospital after negative testsAmir Khan has left hospital after tests for malaria were returned as negative.The WBA light-welterweight champion, who recently returned from holiday in South Africa and Egypt, was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital on Sunday, suffering from a high temperature, and was kept in for observation.But his father Shah Khan told BBC Radio Manchester: "Amir's OK now. All the tests came back negative."He explained: "Amir came home from South Africa feeling weak and by Sunday his temperature had risen quite high. He didn't collapse or anything like that, but he went to the Beaumont Hospital in Bolton."They kept him in for tests but they all came back fine and he came home this morning."He has been told to get some rest but he will be fine to go to Las Vegas later this month to watch Juan Manuel M�rquez fight Juan Diaz."The winner of that world lightweight title showdown is likely to provide the next opponent for Khan some time after Ramadan, with 11 December a date the Khan camp are already working towards, although Khan has also stated he is keen to fight the winner of Marcos Maidana's fight with Timothy Bradley this autumn."We are looking at all our options and one thing Amir really wants to do is to come back and fight at home," Shah Khan added.
